SWEL have a bank of qualified weld procedures to BSEN 15614-1 and ASME 1X which lend themselves perfectly to manufacturing pipe spools in a wide range of materials. The ability to alternate between manufacturing in carbon steels to super duplex is the flexibility our customers require. Based on our mission to accommodate diversity our welding engineer can work with you to devise your procedural requirements and minimise lead times by draughting all documentation at our premises.

A duplex socket to Cu-Ni 90/10 by means of welding, the challenge was to draught a weld procedure which as welded would meet all the criteria of BSEN 15614-1 2004 and Lloyds registers scrutiny.
Our welding engineer evaluated the two metal compositions and devised a procedure under enormous pressure to prove the joints integrity and get the procedure witnessed and endorsed by Lloyds within seven days. After radiography and subsequent mechanical testing where proved, the whole process including welding the production pipes was completed in 9 days.
